Having a good understanding of unique personality traits can enhance an investigator or leader’s ability to communicate effectively. This can help in obtaining information from witnesses, talking with staff about office-related matters, and de-escalating a situation that is becoming heated.
Another benefit of recognizing differing personalities is the often-forgotten benefit of improving or maintaining good morale within an agency or group of cohorts. Knowing how to communicate with someone based on personality differences can eliminate many misunderstandings and ineffective work performance.
This course will introduce the student to the four common personality traits and how to evaluate someone’s personality based upon observed behaviors and expectations. It will then dive deeper into what inspires and what alarms differing personalities and how, based upon your own personality, is the best form of ongoing communication for best results.
This is an online video training and is designed to be interactive with students by random quizzes and a final exam. Student login and time are tracked per student to verify the time spent in the course if needed. Testing cannot be done until the videos are watched. Many of the videos have a unique symbol or picture that will appear prominently in the video and is part of the test questions, this will ensure the video has been watched. Certificates will only be available for print after the successful completion of the course material.
Each certificate will indicate that it was an online training and will note the approval control number and the CLEE hours given.
